Session SimpleX bridge

The privacy community is full of holy wars similar to the crypto world. That leads to biases and tribalism around false narratives. A good example is the Session vs SimpleX war. Both solutions are flawed walled gardens, but they are currently the best messengers in town with very different architectures and use cases.

We originally started growing our community on Session in 2021 and then slowly expanded to SimpleX a few years later. In attempt to explain differences between these two solutions, @degenrocket published a detailed analysis in 2025 that points out flaws in both architectures, essentially arguing that we still don't have a perfect messenger.

Later in 2026, as our private groups on Session and SimpleX grew, we decided to connect both communities so people could exchange knowledge and debate architectures. Thus, @natsec wrote the first bridge that relays messages between Session and SimpleX.

At the moment, the bot only bridges simple messages, but reactions and edits can be added in the future. You can deploy your own bridge by following this instruction or submit your feedback and feature requests without creating an account via this web form.

Note that the git repo is hosted on Vastrum, which was also developed by @natsec, and you can access it via a browser without downloading any Vastrum apps, but the page requires WebRTC to work because it has to connect to RPC nodes to fetch the git repo.

And if you have any issues connecting over WebRTC, you can clone git repo from our Forgejo instance and leave your feedback on our Spasm forum using Nostr/Ethereum extensions or as a guest.
